I`ve had good luck straining wort while it`s still in the brewpot. I use a
medium size food strainer, which has about an eight inch handle. I simply run
it back and forth through the wort, dumping it out as necessary. I have found
that I can remove most of the hops/whatever in a couple minutes. Then I
continue boiling the wort for a few more minutes to kill any beasties that may
have been on the strainer.
