In response to John Fitzgerald's <johnf@ccgate.SanDiegoCA.NCR.COM> question
on June 2:

1 ppm (parts per million) is equal to 1 mg/l. Therefore,

1 g/l = 1000 mg/l = 1000 ppm. So just multiply g/l by 1000

to get ppm.
